JOHN PLUMB 1927 - 2008
Born 6th February 1927 in Luton, Bedfordshire.
Trained as an artist at the Luton School of Art,
the Byam Shaw School of Drawing and Painting, London
and at the Central School of Art and Design, London.
Lived and worked for some 40 years in and around London; since
December 1993 living and working in Yarnscombe, Devon.
Taught part-time at Luton School of Art, Maidstone College of Art,
and the London Central School of Art and Design; visiting lecturer
at a number of other Art Schools and Art Departments in the UK including
Hull, Carlisle, Winchester, The Slade School, and the University of Reading.
Taught full-time at Bennington College, Vermont, USA (1968-69), and
at the London Central School of Art and Design as
Senior Lecturer in Painting from 1969 to 1982.
Died 6th April 2008 in Yarnscombe, North Devon.
